One Nation, One Ration Card – Seamless Access Anywhere in India
The One Nation One Ration Card (ONORC) scheme, launched by the Government of India under the National Food Security Act, ensures that beneficiaries can access subsidized food grains from any fair price shop in the country using their ration card and Aadhaar-based biometric authentication. This is especially beneficial for migrant workers and families who frequently move between states for work or livelihood. It eliminates the restrictions of state-bound ration access and brings uniformity to the public distribution system.
Through ONORC, the government has significantly reduced fraud and duplication by linking ration cards with Aadhaar, ensuring transparency and efficiency. Families can now split their entitlements across locations — allowing members in different places to collect their share with ease. NayaSabera LPS Foundation helps eligible citizens register and update their ration card under this scheme, completely free of cost.
